My name is Sonia. I am a first-year teacher, teaching (CGS) levels 1 and 2, at Saint Mary’s School.  I have spent the last 32 years as an aide or teacher of catechism in the Catholic Church.  In 2016 I began the specific study & training in Catechesis of The Good Shepherd (CGS).   Additionally, I have had the pleasure of teaching 5y/o pre-K kids to prepare them for kindergarten. I am a wife, mother to three beautiful girls and a retired U.S. Marine.  My husband and I have been married since 1996.  We are both retired Marines having come from families with long military backgrounds. We have three beautiful daughters.  Our first born, 17 yers old, is starting her freshman year of college at the University of Oregon.  Our second child, 15yrs old, and is a high school senior.  Our third child, 14 years old, and is starting her 8th grade year. I have felt blessed since the first day I met the children here at St. Mary’s.  Although it was only one day for observation these beautiful kids welcomed me right into the fold highlighting their amazing hearts. I look forward to an exciting year as the children discover The Good Shepherd and contemplate His words through the Holy Spirits guidance.
