Nationwide Children's School-Based Health Center

St. Mary School German Village has partnered with Nationwide Children’s Hospital to provide students with the same health care they would receive at a doctor’s office – right at school. The Nationwide Children’s school-based health center, located on the second floor of the Burkley Center, provides additional access to health services and is open to all St. Mary students and their siblings, ages 0-21.

The school-based health center can:

  • Help when your child has a sore throat, bad cough, earache, headache
  • Give shots (immunizations)
  • Do blood work
  • Perform checkups (well visits)
  • Send medication to the pharmacy
  • Provide sports physicals
  • Treat asthma
  • Treat anxiety, depression and ADHD
  • Connect you with a doctor
  • Treat diabetes
  • And more

The center is not meant to replace your child’s existing pediatrician or family doctor. A parent or guardian must provide consent for your child to be seen by the provider. Please see your school nurse for consent forms.

School-Based Behavioral Health Services

Behavioral and mental health services are also available to St. Mary School German Village students. If your child is experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral challenges, you can get help from a licensed therapist on-site at the school-based health center or at home year-round. These services offer a patient- and family-centered approach to student success and mental health.

The behavioral health services offered are:

  • Individual and family therapy
  • Crisis intervention
  • Community psychiatric supportive treatment
  • Referral to a provider for an evaluation and medication management

Please see the St. Mary School German Village school counselor for more information and to request a referral.
