At Saint Mary School, our Catholic faith is the foundation of everything we do. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, we nurture students’ hearts and minds through daily prayer, weekly Mass, and a commitment to serving others.
Saint Mary School
Catholic Focus
At Saint Mary School, our Catholic identity is at the heart of everything we do. In close partnership with Saint Mary Parish, we guide students to grow in their relationship with Christ, develop a strong moral foundation, and live out their faith with joy and purpose. Through prayer, sacramental life, and daily instruction rooted in Gospel values, we nurture a community where students are formed as disciples—both in the classroom and beyond.
What we do
1. Rigorous Religious Education
Students at Saint Mary receive a strong foundation in Catholic doctrine, Scripture, and Church traditions through daily religious instruction that deepens their understanding of the faith and how to live it out in their everyday lives.
2. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Beginning in Pre-K, students participate in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-inspired, hands-on approach to discipleship. Focused on Scripture and liturgy, this program cultivates a life of prayer, reflection, and a personal relationship with Christ.
3. Weekly School Mass
Every Friday, students, staff, and families gather for Mass, placing Christ at the center of our school community. Students actively participate through music, readings, altar serving, and more.
4. Sacramental Preparation
Our second graders prepare for and receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, while our older students receive Confirmation through formation in partnership with our parish.
5. Living the Liturgical Year
From observing Advent and Lent to celebrating feast days and holy days of obligation, our students grow in understanding the rhythm of the Church year. Seasonal devotions, such as Stations of the Cross, deepen their connection to Christ’s passion and resurrection.
6. Faith Across the Curriculum
Catholic identity is woven into all aspects of school life—from classroom discussions to service projects—encouraging students to live out Gospel values and recognize God’s presence in all areas of learning.
