Sherri Anderson, known to students and families as Mrs. Anderson, joins Saint Mary this year as part of the Talented and Gifted Program. While this is her first year teaching at Saint Mary, she is already familiar with the community, having previously served as a substitute teacher here.

Mrs. Anderson brings a unique background to the classroom. Most recently, she spent two years teaching art at St. Timothy School. Before entering education, she worked for 26 years as a copywriter at several Columbus advertising agencies and spent 10 years teaching copywriting as an adjunct instructor at the Columbus College of Art & Design. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Communications.

Growing up in Upper Arlington, Mrs. Anderson completed her sacraments at St. Andrew Parish and continued participating in religious education through high school. The sense of community she experienced there stayed with her, and she has always felt drawn to being part of a strong Catholic community.

Outside of school, Mrs. Anderson and her husband are embracing life as new-ish empty nesters and trying plenty of new things along the way. They enjoy live music, stand-up comedy, playing Euchre, and taking long weekend trips together.

As she begins her first year at Saint Mary, Mrs. Anderson is looking forward to building relationships with her coworkers, earning the trust and respect of her students, and continuing to grow in her faith. A self-described helper, doer, and fixer, she is also always willing to lend an extra hand—or an extra mind—wherever it may be needed!
