Andrew Pena, known to students and families as Mr. Pena, joins Saint Mary this year as a Spanish teacher. This is his first year at Saint Mary and his ninth year as an educator.

Mr. Pena earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Sacramento State University and his master’s degree in Secondary Education from San Francisco State University.

As a new member of the Saint Mary community, Mr. Pena has already enjoyed getting to know the students and staff. He was drawn to Catholic education by the welcoming atmosphere and the people who make the school community so special.

Outside of school, Mr. Pena enjoys traveling with his wife, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with his cats.

Mr. Pena is excited to begin his first year at Saint Mary and is especially looking forward to meeting new students and staff, building relationships, and sharing his love of Spanish with the school community!
