Kate Willis, known to students and families as Ms. Willis, serves as a sixth grade classroom aide at Saint Mary School. This is her fourth year at Saint Mary and an incredible 42nd year working in education, including 37 years as a classroom teacher.

Ms. Willis is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Her favorite part of working with students is witnessing those special “light bulb” moments when a new concept finally clicks and students recognize what they are capable of accomplishing.

Catholic education has been woven throughout many chapters of Ms. Willis’ life. She has experienced Catholic schools as a student, parent, grandparent, and educator, giving her a special appreciation for the community and mission they provide.

Outside of school, Ms. Willis enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and participating in theatre.

Even after more than four decades in education, Ms. Willis knows there is always something new to discover. She is looking forward to another year of learning alongside Saint Mary students and says she still learns something new almost every day!
