Katie Patti

Middle School Science + Religion Teacher

Katie Patti, known to students and families as Mrs. Patti, teaches seventh and eighth grade science and eighth grade religion at Saint Mary School. This is her third year at Saint Mary and her seventh year as an educator.

Mrs. Patti is a graduate of Kent State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Education. Her favorite part of teaching is her students, and she loves helping them recognize that science isn’t limited to a textbook—it is happening in the world all around them. She strives to make learning as hands-on as possible and give students opportunities to explore science through real-world experiences.

Mrs. Patti loves being part of Catholic education and working alongside a staff that strives to be the face of Christ for Saint Mary students and the greater community. She also enjoys helping students discover how science and faith can inspire them to care for God’s creation.

Outside of school, Mrs. Patti is a mom of four and spends plenty of time cheering on her children at their sporting events and helping with their 4-H projects. She also enjoys fishing, birding, gardening, and knitting whenever she can find the time.

This year, Mrs. Patti is especially excited to dig into hydroponics, worm farming, and Saint Mary’s Creation Care Team, giving students even more opportunities to get their hands dirty and experience science in action!
