Sophia Zamarelli, known to students and families as Miss Zamarelli, teaches second grade at Saint Mary School and is beginning her second year as part of the Saint Mary community.

Miss Zamarelli is a proud double Buckeye, earning both her bachelor’s degree in Education and master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from The Ohio State University. Go Bucks!

Having attended Catholic school from kindergarten through 12th grade, becoming a Catholic school teacher feels especially meaningful and full-circle for Miss Zamarelli. She loves that faith is woven into all aspects of life at Saint Mary and values the opportunity to grow in her own faith alongside her students. She also appreciates working with and learning from the many faith-filled educators who make up the Saint Mary staff.

Outside of the classroom, Miss Zamarelli enjoys playing tennis, going on runs with friends, traveling with family, reading, and going on motorcycle rides with her dad.

This year, Miss Zamarelli is especially looking forward to welcoming a new group of second graders and building a strong classroom community where students can learn, grow, and deepen their faith together.
